Thin acrylic paint is layered over charcoal, to keep the inherent energy of the drawing still very active in the final piece. I intentionally made this lighter-toned than the more contrasted charcoal and pastel version. I do not often repeat a composition, but using different mediums is informative. Our daughter and our dog posed briefly.
